Jamistry is a guitar jam room for iPhone: play over original backing tracks while the fretboard shows you the notes that fit, record your jams, and use the built-in tuner, chord library, scale trainer, and ear trainer. Below are answers to the questions we're asked most.
The tuner and chord detection use the microphone, and recording a jam uses the camera and microphone. If they've been blocked, open iOS Settings → Jamistry, turn on Microphone and Camera, then reopen the app.
Open JamLab, pick a backing track, then tap Record your jam. Follow the quick setup to tell us how you're listening, and you'll capture your camera, your playing, and the backing track together, in time. Afterwards you can trim the take, save it, share it, or submit it to the Jam Wall.
For the tightest sync, use your phone's speaker or wired earphones. Bluetooth headphones add a delay that can push your playing out of time with the backing track — the app flags this when you choose Bluetooth.
Tap the ⋯ button on any Jam Wall clip and choose Report. That flags the clip for review and hides that creator from your feed. We review reports promptly and remove anything that breaks our Terms of Service.
Enter your email and we'll send you a one-time code — there's no password to remember. If you've set a password, you can also tap Sign in with a password.
In the app, open the profile menu and choose Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and your data, including any recordings you shared, and can't be undone. If you can't reach the app, email hello@jamistry.com and we'll take care of it for you.
